“I have a 2009 Infiniti g37x with 36000 miles, bought new in july 2009. Just recently the air bag light started flashing. I took it to the Infiniti dealer and was told it was the passenger air bag sensor in the front passenger seat that was bad, and would cost $6000.00 to fix. I see this seems to be a problem with many others, but don't see a recall yet?”

NHTSA complaint #11119937, filed 2018-08, 36,000 miles

“The airbag light started blinking, I got it checked and I was told the infant seat sensor was bad and all the seat has to be changed $6000. I checked a couple of online forums and it seems like in the past 2 years people with the same car model have been complaining about the same problem. Basically the passenger seat sensor is not working so it shuts off the airbag system for the passenger.”

NHTSA complaint #11319734, filed 2020-03, 80,000 miles

“Airbag sensor was blinking on my dash after starting it in my driveway to drive to work. I took it in to an infinity dealership and only to find out it was a seat sensor to be replace with only 40k miles on the vehicle. The part alone cost $6340.00 which isn't worth fixing. I wasn't told of any other option and seems to have happened a lot with other owners and no recall of any sort is to be issued.”

NHTSA complaint #11316606, filed 2020-03, 40,500 miles

“I turned on my car in my driveway one day and the airbag light was on. It turns out that the passenger seat sensor has gone bad in my car. The car has been taken care of and has 50,000 miles. This seems to be a very common and expensive issue and should be a recall. Not to mention that if you're in an accident and have a passenger sitting in your car, their airbags will not deploy resulting in serious injury.”

NHTSA complaint #11364795, filed 2020-10, 50,000 miles

“I have a 2009 Infiniti G37 with 89000 miles, just recently the air bag light started flashing for no apparent reason. I took it to the Infiniti dealer and was told it was the passenger air bag sensor in the front passenger seat that was bad, and would cost over $6k to fix. My research suggests this is a known safety issue and a common problem with infinitis that should be recalled and corrected by nissan corp.”
