“Camshaft pos sensor went out during driving. Car lost power and jerked. Had car looked at by independent service station and heard knocking. Brought car to dealership and was determined to have a blown engine. Was specifically told that the turbos were 'eating' the oil and not allowing oil to flow to lower end of motor. Which caused failure to main bearing in cylinder 3. Car needs a new engine. Service department has seen this before with same year make and model of vehicle”

NHTSA complaint #11351920, filed 2020-08, 99,000 miles

“While driving on a highway (i95, speed 55 MPH) the engine suddenly died, was able to pull over and restart the engine, which now made a terrible mechanic noise. Could drive off to a smaller road where the engine stalled again. Had to tow the car to the dealer, who advised that the engine needed to be changed. Two weeks later the engine was finally changed but now this time they stated that the turbos needed to be changed. The parts were, however, on back order - dealer cannot say how long before it can be repaired. After 3 weeks and many phone conversations I still do not have a car. …”

NHTSA complaint #11246056, filed 2019-08, 18,000 miles

“My car has a start and stop problem and the dealer reprogram the ecm but it didn't work got back on the road and almost got hit twice bc my car went into limp mode. And they won't fix up unless I pay even know it's a recall and my drive shaft has a recall but they said that was close out”

NHTSA complaint #11643175, filed 2025-02

“When i was driving in highway, all of a sudden gas paddle stop working no matter how hard i press it is not taking gas paddle and not picking up speed. I was panicking, lucky nobody behind me. Nothing bad happen, but this is very dangerous in my opinion.”

NHTSA complaint #11540699, filed 2023-08

“My vehicle has been stalling and burning/leaking oil internally for some time now with white smoke coming from the rear. Well Infiniti sent a post card and stated that the emission warranty is extended for 120,000 miles which my vehicle has had the issue for some time and it was already over 120k miles at the time of the loss. The issue Infiniti reported in their postcard is, you may experience issue with the turbocharger, Overtime there is a possibility for the turbocharger thrust bearing to wear and leak oil internally. …”
