“Vehicle was stopped at the red light. This vehicle has a stop-start system. When I put my foot off the brake, I showed system failure and did not start the engine. I brought this to inifitni dealer, there was the same recall on different VIN. They could not do anything about this safety concern.”

NHTSA complaint #11093336, filed 2018-05, 33,000 miles

“We took our car in for its first oil change at a oil lube business and afterward our car's engine seized up about 4 miles down the road, and completely destroyed itself. After investigating, it seems the oil tech may have damaged the oil filter assembly's delicate end tip piece unbeknownst to him. It is inconclusive if he damaged it or broke it off. At a later date this oil lube business gave us an Infiniti tbs they got from our Infiniti dealership, that they nor I, had ever seen. Also it does not seem to be filed with anyone nor the NHTSA. …”

NHTSA complaint #11006153, filed 2017-07, 6,000 miles

“Something happened to cause power loss. I checked the recalls and work that was supposed to be performed but didn’t get done like it was supposed to. I need to have it checked now asap! I see 2 engine replacements and also the turbos and 2 of the catalytic converters. The last 2 need replacing as well or it’s not going to be right.”

NHTSA complaint #11743844, filed 2026-06

“My 2016 Q50 was driving strangely, but no indicator light came on the dashboard. I took the vehicle to the dealer where I purchased it and was told that the engine is dying. No other information was given to me. I called the service advisor asking what in particular was wrong with my car, but he said he wasn't sure. I took issue with the fact that my engine died, and no warning lights what-so-ever showed on the dash. I would only take my car to the dealer for repairs, maintenance and oil changes. …”

NHTSA complaint #11751616, filed 2026-07

“Engine manufactured with porous block causing coolant to mix with oil resulting in bearing failure. Vehicle has less than 60k miles and I have seen numerous reports on Infiniti Q50/Q60 forums with people having the exact same issue. Some vehicles have had multiple engine replacements. Vehicle out of warranty due to age. Have not been able to drive vehicle for over a year and was told I should report issue to the government since Infiniti has not stepped up and done a voluntary recall.”
