Example complaints

Fuel system: “There is a strong smell of gas on the driver side after I have been driving. Other innfinity QX80 owners reported online with the same model, that this is in fact a recall issue for this make and model, and year. However when i call Infinity, they say they cant find anything on my car. it is not?? however your website clearly lists it as a problem for this particular car?? what do i do next.”

NHTSA complaint #11719446, filed 2026-02

Engine: “First I want to make it clear that I love my vehicle, however it has an issue with starting the engine occassionaly. In the beginning I was blaming it on the battery, I had that checked several time and all seemed to be ok? After several times of this happening I decided I was losing confidence in the testing and I purchased a new battery. That seemed to take care of the problem for 10 months, when it started again and has happened 3 times since. I had a friend jump start me and I drove staight to the dealership I had purchased the vehicle and battery from. …”

NHTSA complaint #11258347, filed 2019-09, 49,000 miles

Air bags: “Picked up the vechicle on the afternoon of june 23 2015. On the way home the air bag warning light flashed so we returned to the dealership. They did something and stted is was aloose wire. Next day (on a trip) the air bag light started flashing again. Returned the vechicle to the dealer for three days and was told some parts were replaced. Two days later air bag light was on again. Returned to the dealer (third time) they could not find detail of fault even though the light was obviously flashing. They said they would contact infinity and get technical help but that the vehicle was safe. …”

NHTSA complaint #10749710, filed 2015-08, 24 miles

Brakes: “I was driving down back street and applied brakes due to a stop sign ahead of me and my vehicle did not stop. I was in total shock at the time of the accident and could not believe I rear ended another vehicle. The date of the accident was 2/9/2018. After speaking with two of my other friends weeks later. My friend that owner a nissan murano rear ended another car when she applied the brakes. My other friend who owns an infinity had her vehicle in the shop for braking problems. To me this seems a little ironic if you ask me.”
