Example complaints

Forward collision avoidance: “I am still having the same issues as the last time I reported this but new issues have occurred as well. The self driving is still disengaging with little or no warning and pulling the vehicle sharply to the left or right causing safety concerns with almost hitting another car or the center median wall on the highway. The stereo is still going black and turning the screen off. When you attempt to remedy, the buttons and screen are all frozen. When I power it off the AC goes off. …”

NHTSA complaint #11770064, filed 2026-10

Back-over prevention (rear camera): “I am submitting a safety complaint regarding the driver assistance system (ProPILOT Assist) in my 2024 Infiniti QX80. The behavior of this system creates a potentially dangerous driving condition. When ProPILOT Assist is engaged, the vehicle consistently delays braking until the last possible moment, then applies sudden and aggressive braking rather than smooth deceleration. This creates a high risk of rear-end collisions, especially in moderate to heavy traffic where gradual speed adjustments are expected. In addition, the lane-keeping function appears unstable. …”

NHTSA complaint #11734204, filed 2026-04

Brakes: “many times when I am using pro pilot assist it does not brake to point when it is inches of crashing into car in front, I manually have to apply brakes. in addition while being in full automatic mode (hands free mode) it turns off lane keeping assist completely where if the driver was not Able to make split second decisions it would collide with vehicle near it. there is no warning for pro pilot assist mode to be driven below or above a certain speed, Infiniti dealer advised it should not be used for bumper to bumper traffic or within city. …”
