“At 5,700 miles on my 2023 Gladiator the drivers side rear brake caliper bolt fell out. This created a loud bangin inside the wheel and damaged the wheel as well. Upon stopping the caliper pivoted and lodged into the wheel not allowing me to back up.”

NHTSA complaint #11554745, filed 2023-11

“Parking brake would not hold vehicle on hill. When the handle was released, a metalic clinking noise was heard. Castle rock jeep dealership said all was fine. Upon my inspection, I found the parking brake cable connection under teh center console was no longer connected. The cable was reconnected, and the cable was tightened to specifications indicated my Jeep. THe vehicle had 6200 miles on it. p.s. THis was after the warranty replacement of the engine. THe dealership indicated they tested several other jeeps and they all acted as mine. No concern for safety.”

NHTSA complaint #11746285, filed 2026-06

“Parking/emergency brake has become unattached and no longer functions. It is a manual transmission and the parking brake is required to keep the vehicle from possibly rolling once parked.”

NHTSA complaint #11584730, filed 2024-04

“Purchased new in 2023....vehicle soon started making a hissing sound from steering area normally upon first morning startup. The vehicle would then go forward or in reverse when I attempted to come out of park but had not released brake yet. brought to dealer for repair 2/26/24 at 6162 miles. dealer replaced vacuum pump as cause of concern. the issue seemed resolved for maybe less than two weeks. same issue returned. The safety concern is that the vehicle should not move with the brake pedal pressed and this issue is allowing the vehicle to move. …”
