“I was at a restaurant eating breakfast, after I was done I came out to crank my car and it would turn over but would not start up. The dashboard was stating that I needed ESC service, then it said I need airbag service, steering service. I could not turn my steering wheel and my brakes would not push on to start my car. Then the throttle light came on. I had to get it towed.”
NHTSA complaint #11282296, filed 2019-11, 85,000 miles“Was in motion on city street and power steering / traction control randomly cut out causing the vehicle to loose control. This has happened several times. The power will cut the engine sometimes and other times the car just drifts and I cannot control it. I have almost seriously wrecked because of it twice.”
NHTSA complaint #11170544, filed 2019-01, 20,000 miles“I've had two separate occurrences happened to me. The first one I came to a stop sign and made a complete stop, when I went to accelerate my accelerator, brake pedal and steering wheel locked, I had to put the car on park and turn the engine off in the middle of the street, wait a moment, turn it on, it took a while to turn on but then everything went back to normal and I continued my journey. …”
NHTSA complaint #11140514, filed 2018-10, 50,700 miles“I lost the ability to steer my car. I was driving home from work, going the posted speed limit, 50 MPH, then all of a sudden I couldn't steer my car, I nearly had an accident, I stopped the car, turned off the ignition, started it back up and it would steer again.”
NHTSA complaint #11301798, filed 2020-01, 56,000 miles“I was on a highway going 65mph and my engine cut off, steering locked up, and I had no control of breaks or anything. I could not get over or even put my hazards on to signal to other drivers I could not stop or get to another lane. When a tow truck arrived he tried a new battery and everything and could not even get the car in neutral to be able to tow it to the side of the road. Had to get special truck there to get the car to safety and a shop. After getting to the shop they said it was an issue with my water pump that caused everything to shut down suddenly.”
