“On 12 march 2005, my wife was hit head-on while sitting in a turn lane in her 2000 Jeep Wrangler sahara edition. The air bags did not deploy, consequently, my wife went through the driver door window, suffering severe cuts and bruises, a broken neck, four broken ribs and a collasped left lung. …”

NHTSA complaint #10125738, filed 2005-06, 36,000 miles

“Mode selector for the HVAC system has a major issue melting the selector, harness and control module. After researching this incident online and to my surprise there is no recall on this subject. Heater not working, possible heater system catching on fire do hi voltage to the mode selector witch causes entire HVAC failure and possible fire. Jeep has known about this for a while but no one seems to be getting on them about it. Again 2000 Jeep Wrangler heater control failure.”

NHTSA complaint #10371872, filed 2010-12, 65,000 miles

Hvac motor switch is melted from overheating.(possible dash fire from this) confirmed by sight this was in fact the problem by my own eyes. Found an article in jp magazine october 07 issue labeled retard to fix this problem for good no thanks to the dealer.”
