“While moving down highways 40 to 65mph ive noticed that whenever I hit pot holes or bumps my car imediately goes into a major wobble like I have a flat tire, however as soon as I tap my brake it stops. My friend told me this is a death wobble factory recall but Jeep dealers tell me my car VIN isnt included. Why not since it has the problem?!”

NHTSA complaint #10807552, filed 2015-11, 100,000 miles

“I have been a proud owner of my Jeep since 2004 until towards the end of last year when I began to experience problems with a violent shaking when I was driving at 55mph and would hit a bump. I took it to my mechanic a few times but they couldn't find anything wrong with it. They checked my tires, the brakes, etc. It happened again and again so my mechanic thought it possible needed to be aligned so I tried that. That didn't help either. Then the tires became a topic of discussion so I bought new tires and still the problem occurred. …”

NHTSA complaint #10462538, filed 2012-06, 48,500 miles

“Purchased a used 2004 Jeep Wrangler rubicon with 11000 miles on the odometer, after driving the vehicle for several months I noticed that the odometer seamed to be reading slow, so I had the odometer checked by a state trooper and found out that at 45 MPH I was only moving at 40 MPH. With further investigation I found that the tires and rims are not the right size for the vehicle. The tires that where on the Jeep when I purchased it are p225/75r15, the manufacturer recommends lt245/75r16, is this vehicle safe to drive? The dealership where I purchased the Jeep from refuses to make it right. …”

NHTSA complaint #10176076, filed 2006-12, 11,000 miles

“Sudden onset of violent front end and steering wheel vibration, requiring 2 hands tightly gripping the steering wheel to coax it onto the shoulder. 5 incidents in 8 months at 60mph on both smooth and rough pavement. Narrowly missed smashing into a cement barrier, tractor trailer and car during 3 of the 5 incidents.”
