“When traveling above 70mph and hitting a rough place on the road the steering shakes violently including the dash until you slow down to 40mph. This has happened 6+ times now with the local deal ship not knowing how to fix. We were almost rear ended because of this. And thank goodness their wasn't an abandoned vehicle on the shoulder. We have a video of this happening”
NHTSA complaint #11181308, filed 2019-02, 4,125 miles“I was driving my Jeep on the highway at 65mph and drove over a seam(bump) in the road. The front wheels and steering wheel began the shake violently and uncontrollably. I had to bring the vehicle to a complete stop in order for the shaking to stop. Finding a place to come to a complete stop on the highway is not safe at all.”
NHTSA complaint #11279344, filed 2019-11, 9,000 miles“Ua5/NHTSA 18v-675 track bar weld recall. I had the required inspection done two weeks ago, but dealer won't do the welding. I have been trying to make Jeep customer service make the local dealer fix this very serious issue, but nothing happens. I've even tried a dealer 1 hour 40 minute drive from me here in arizona, they won't do it either.”
NHTSA complaint #11154473, filed 2018-11, 4,486 miles“My vehicle has the death wobble on the highway at any speeds above 55 MPH. If I hit a small bump on the road, such as a highway joint, my steering wheel shakes violently and uncontrollably and my wheels also uncontrollably vibrate. I am unable to control the vehicle when this happens and immediately try to slow down and hold onto the steering wheel as hard as I can.”
NHTSA complaint #11155196, filed 2018-11, 5,000 miles“When driving over speeds of 60 MPH on the highway, and hitting even the slightest of bumps, my Jeep steering was uncontrollable, and I imagine this is the death wobble I have heard about occurring in jeeps. The only way to manage it was to slow way down to 35 MPH and avoid bumps of any kind.”
