“Started up my vehicle and began to roll forward down the driveway. Realized I could not turn left. The steering wheel was totally locked up to the left side. I braked and started trying to turn the wheel. Then it locked up a second time as I turned right. The wheel became stuck to the right. It took a lot of force to eventually break the wheel free.”
NHTSA complaint #11366766, filed 2020-10, 12,000 miles“The Wrangler has had loose steering and hard to keep straight on the highway since leased. Had back to dealer several times. It had both the steering dampener and sway bar replaced only for them to turn around and tell me that they could not duplicate the issue. It is getting worse the more miles that are put on it. I am really disappointed in Jeep/chrysler!”
NHTSA complaint #11331580, filed 2020-06, 100 miles“The Jeep starts to shake while driving and it is hard to hold onto steering wheel. Feels like you have no control. The mileage odometer goes from 999,999 back to correct one. It is a brand new 2018. Can't get the steering part because it is on back order. We didn't even get a notice about recall. I am so blessed my daughter has not been in an accident going to and from college”
NHTSA complaint #11396004, filed 2021-02, 30,000 miles“Every single day I drive my Jeep I constantly have to correct my steering because it's constantly wandering in the lane, I'm afraid an officer is going to pull me over because they may believe I'm driving drunk. My steering wheel has about 3' of play in it before the wheels are responsive, it's just downright dangerous to drive.”
NHTSA complaint #11337388, filed 2020-07, 6,686 miles“Takata recall I purchased a 2018 Jeep sahara with 18 miles on it and have brought it to the shop 2 times for death wobble. It still has the issue and its getting worse. The Jeep dealership seems to have no answers on how to fix it. The last issue made me slow down to approximately 20mph on the highway nearly resulting in a rear ending accident.”
