“I have a 1999 Jeep Wrangler sahara v.6. 5 speed manual transmission. My Jeep is in great shape however I started having steering problems. I noticed around the apex on both sides the frame had rusted away. I had it a new piece welded in place and it was working great. Then I noticed my transmission was having issues. I thought I was going to have to buy another transmission when it was discovered the plate that lies below the transmission was rusted from the frame and not supporting the transmission. I had that welded too. …”
NHTSA complaint #10604427, filed 2014-06“The check engine light keeps coming on. I have returned it for service 4 times, and need to bring it back in again. First they said it was a solenoid. Then they traced all of the wiring. The time after that they replaced the module. Next they replaced all of the spark plugs (recall service). They replaced the spark plugs 2-3 weeks ago, and the check engine light is already back on. The dealership's service has been good, but they nor chrysler seem to know why this is occurring.”
NHTSA complaint #704869, filed 1999-03“While driving power steering shaft came off and pushed forward into the radiator fan.driver pulled over, and put it back in place. Could have caused loss of steering.”
