2014: “Driving on interstate 8 in az traveling at 65 MPH the right front tire blew out on my Montana 5th wheel rv and damaged the side of the trailer. The tires had only about 7500 miles on them and they were goodyear marathon st235/80/r16. The trailer was not over loaded.these tires should last longer then that.I stopped in yuma, az and replaced all four tires.”

NHTSA complaint #10670674, filed 2015-01, 7,500 miles

2013: “Traveling i10 just outside san antonio tx pulling my 39 foot Keystone Montana I experienced a tire blowout (goodyear tire). The blowout did major damage to my wheel well, metal on side of 5th wheel. Cost to repair is $7,200.00. Tires have less than 2000 miles on them. I am going to remove them and replace with michelin xps rib”

NHTSA complaint #10781468, filed 2015-10, 2,000 miles

2016: “I took my travel trailer in to my dealership, smallwoods trailers, to determine the cause of an electrical fault. The fault was found to be in the braking system. Specifically the backing plate on one wheel had broken and the other three backing plates had cracks in them. I have never heard of this happening before on any of the automobiles I have owned. Seems odd. Are others having this same problem? This trailer weighs over 13,00 pounds.”
