“Manufacturer defect in air conditioning compressor; I bought my 2006 Kia Sedona brand new in december. When I began to use the AC in the spring, the driver side was not producing the same cold air as the passenger side or the back AC. I took my vehicle back to dealership twice, the second time I was told that I must have had a collision with some road debris and caused the defect. They stated they put freon in and it ran out as fast as we put it in ~ I stated freon is a gas ~ shouldn't it have evaporated? …”
NHTSA complaint #10221241, filed 2008-03, 3,000 miles“I was out shopping with my 2 year old twins and my mother and we were in a parking lot loading our stuff in the 2006 Kia Sedona once again and the van door would not close. …”
NHTSA complaint #10185018, filed 2007-03, 12,000 miles“When driving 2006 Kia Sedona van, gas pedal sticks inside the rubber mat causing the vehicle to accelerate. Rubber mats were purchased from Kia. Rubber mat comes off the floor post which causes the mat to slip forward. I am concerned for the safety of myself and family. Occurs every time adjustable pedals are positioned farthest to the floor when husband drives the vehicle because he is tall. Kia dealer offered to put a screw in the mat but that was not satisfactory to me as this vehicle was purchased new and the screw does not seem to be a permanent fix to this problem. …”
NHTSA complaint #10308660, filed 2010-02, 55,000 miles“Problems: air bag light on again. Has been repaired by dealer several times. Ac does not blow cold continually and has been repaired several times. New compressor, additional freon, etc. Horn malfunctioning again. Transmission problem - the vehicle bangs or slams when you come down a hill to a stop. When slowing down to a stop light it actually has a surge or acceleration. This vehicle only has 64000 on it and the brakes have been serviced several times (front and rear). …”
NHTSA complaint #10345100, filed 2010-07, 64,000 miles“I purchased a 2006 Kia Sedona october 21st of 2006 and ever since then I have had it in for service about 8-9 times. First few times were for the engine light going on all the time. Then it was shaking of the vehicle and they did a wheel alignment about two times. Took it in again for same shaking problem so they replaced the struts on it. Than the horn went out and the under carriage of the vehicle started shaking while trying to accelerate to 50 miles an hour. …”
