“Passenger side rr control arm rusted through which caused it to bend and caused rr tire to fold inward. Had to replace rr control arm, rr coil spring and shocks on both sides which was affected by rusted control arm. I brought it in to repair shop when I noticed a loud thump when going over a bump. This should be a recall.”
NHTSA complaint #11350941, filed 2020-08, 156,000 miles“The suspension makes a noise like is going to fall apart. I have seen recalls made on front suspension of Kia Sedona 2006 in 21 states, but they are not honoring these recalls in the state of kansas were there is a lot of salt been used during winter as well as the other 21 states.. Please let me know what I need to do in this case.”
NHTSA complaint #10682339, filed 2015-02, 106,000 miles“Driving down the road when front control arm mount at subframe broke, causing steering and suspension to malfunction almost causing loss of control and accident. Luckily, nobody was in the oncoming lane, or I would have hit head on with another car and auto became hard to steer/control until I was able to brake down to lower speed. Kia has known recall for lower control arms rusting, but nothing per dealer for subframe rusting/breaking. This should be addressed.”
NHTSA complaint #11271580, filed 2019-10, 195,000 miles“The back frame of my 2006 Kia Sedona is all corroded. Cannot drive the car any more. I bought the car in nov-2006 and in december 2011 I had to change the front frame due to corrosion. In march 2014, I had to change the front suspension due to corrosion and now the back frame is all corroded. I would like that someone really check on kiia's materials. Is incredibly that after 5 years I had to change the front frame. And up today's day. I have the same corrosion issue. …”
NHTSA complaint #11269537, filed 2019-10, 167,578 miles“Lower control arm has been broken and it seems to results from corrosion. My understanding is that it used to be a recalled item back in 2013. When visiting a local dealership for recalled part in nov 2014, we were told that the part was fine so they just did anti-corrosion treatment. It's been less than a year since the last visit and control arm is broken in a half. I wonder if the maker got this recall campaign done properly.”
