“The brake lights turned on and cannot be turned off except for disconnecting the battery. They are on all of the time while driving and drivers cannot tell when I apply my brakes. They are on after I power off the vehicle and park and lock the Sedona. The ESC off light was also illuminated when I started the car. The vehicle has 25,000 miles and is kept in naples, florida.”
NHTSA complaint #11281379, filed 2019-11, 25,000 miles“An older chevy s10 decided to do a u-turn as I was entering an intersection. I slammed on the brakes and prior to impact the front airbags deployed resulting in my 84 year old passenger hitting the windshield when the actual impact took place and as the truck spun from the broadside hit in the front of my van, it hit us in the front right corner and along the passenger side of my vehicle. My face was badly chaffed and my left arm and hand were badly bruised and cut. But the bouncing around after the airbag rapidly shredded caused me to end up with severe cervical damage.”
NHTSA complaint #10681635, filed 2015-02, 85,000 miles“Anti-lock brakes and engine stability control. In july at approx 12,800 miles the ABS and ESC lights came on. When pressed the brake pedal thumped as if braking on ice or snow. Gas pedal would rumble and vibrate when van started in motion. Took to dealer and told the sensor was inoperable and it would take 5 days for the part but it was ok to drive it like that - including taking my family on vacation 300 miles away! When I refused to drive it off the lot they ended up taking a sensor from a new van on the lot and fixed it. Happened again at 16000 miles. …”
NHTSA complaint #10369569, filed 2010-12, 12,800 miles“The front brake caliper mounting brackets bolts loosen and fall out causing caliper failure. This also cause the caliper to become loose and scrub the inside of the rim which in turn damages both the caliper and the rim. This happens while in motion both on highways and city streets.”
NHTSA complaint #11186702, filed 2019-03, 170,000 miles“The contact owns a 2009 Kia Sedona. The contact stated that the brake lights failed to illuminate. The VIN was not included in NHTSA campaign number: 13v114000 (exterior lighting, service brakes, hydraulic). The manufacturer was not notified. The approximate failure mileage was 126,133.”
