“I bought the car last year and it worked fine until this spring when it had sudden acceleration in the rear gear, causing a minor accident. I was not sure it was the uncontrolled acceleration but then it had two more cases of sudden forward acceleration that cannot be stopped by stepping on the brakebut can be stopped by shifting the gear to neutral. Then this morning (06/18/2012) when I backed out of the home driveway and put the gear to drive, it suddenly started the acceleration again. This time it wouldn't stop even with the gear quickly shifted to neutral, and kept on accelerating. …”

“On 6/23/2010 at 3:45pm, I was driving a 2009 Kia Sedona van and entered a bank parking lot at a very low speed when the vehicle started to accelerate rapidly. I was unable to stop the vehicle and hit the wall of the bank. The air bag deployed, and I suffered injuries to my right arm from the deployment of the air bag. I was the only person in the car, and there were no injuries to any other person. Property damage was only incurred to the vehicle and the bank building wall. There were no fires. The accident was reported to the police. There was no citation given to me by the police. …”

“The contact owns a 2009 Kia Sedona. The contact stated that the vehicle was taken to the dealer for routine service when the contact was informed that there was a manufacturer's recall that needed to be performed on the vehicle. The dealer replaced the intake air temperature sensor. Shortly after the repair, the vehicle would become hesitant to acceleration attempts. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer where the throttle sensor was replaced but the failure recurred. The failure and the current mileages were 30,000.”
