“While driving my husbands Kia it picks up speed if going over 40 MPH it will shut off and we get no power to the gas peddle it holds alot of heat from the motor the side doors open and close when they want ..but my biggest issue is the gas peddle and the shutting off while driving.”

NHTSA complaint #11005534, filed 2017-07, 186,453 miles

“City driving down a busy road at 45 miles an hour and the car speed began dropping, check engine light came on, and gas pedal would go all the way to the floor but not give gas to the engine. Pulled car into a nearby parking lot. After sitting for about 15 minutes, my mechanic showed up. He started the car and the gas pedal worked. We drove it to my home. Now I am afraid to drive it, it could happen again, and cost for fuel system repair is huge for me!”

NHTSA complaint #10916663, filed 2016-10, 120,000 miles

“We were driving interstate 80 westbound. As we were exiting a rest area entering the interstate the accelerator became stuck and the speed of the vehicle could not be controlled. We were reaching speeds upwards of 90-100 MPH. We couldn't get the van to slow down so we put the van in neutral to slow it down. The van finally slowed but because the rpms of the engine were so high and would not stop the engine made a screaming noise and the van finally stopped. …”

NHTSA complaint #10617459, filed 2014-07, 90,000 miles

“When you press gas pedal and car accelerate the gas pedal gets stuck it happens to me a couple times this month I believe the car needs to be recall for the gas pedal thank you”

NHTSA complaint #11048054, filed 2017-11, 155,000 miles

“In spring of 2013, our 2007 Kia Sedona ex continued to accelerate after letting off of the pedal. This occurred on a hilly, windy road with wife and three children. Car continued to accelerate through the braking efforts. Car was stopped without incident. Dealer test drove (could not replicate the problem) and ran through diagnostics without yielding any codes. They basically stated it must have been the pedal getting stuck on a floor mat. It was the first time we experienced it, so we thought that might be reasonable. …”
