“Our 2007 low mileage Kia had been parked for over 24 hrs. While sitting in our driveway not running, no keys in ignition, caught fire and burned to the ground. The fire travelled to my storage building. We lost everything in our storage and our vehicle. Kia assumes no fault. Attached is fire department report and pics of the damage.”
NHTSA complaint #11098160, filed 2018-05, 70,000 miles“While parked the brake tail lights stay on; while driving the cruise control malfunctions, and ESC light indicator illuminates and stays on. It is the same problems as the recall NHTSA #13v114000 and the Kia recall #sc098, but my VIN number apparently isn't listed as one that is affected, which it is! I have noticed it a couple of months ago, but now they all are getting worse. I did not know it was a recall problem.”
NHTSA complaint #11064196, filed 2018-01, 159,000 miles“While driving down the freeway at 65 MPH, the driver's side sliding door opened up while my 8 month old grand-daughter was in the seat next to the opened door, thankfully secured in her car seat. I am surprised to see that no recall has been issued for this after reading so many other complaints of this exact incident!”
NHTSA complaint #10577581, filed 2014-04, 35,000 miles“Power doors no longer work, they do not stay latched while driving. Three times the rear passenger door has come unlatched and started opening while I was driving with my kids in the back. I was able to pull over open the door all the way then re-close it. But the problem has persisted.”
NHTSA complaint #10667801, filed 2014-12, 120,000 miles“I have read several complaints about this same thing I have experienced now on three separate occasions. I too have suddenly lost power and the ESC light and check engine light comes on. The gas pedal is virtually dead, you push the pedal to the floor and all you get is about 1500 RPM and about 20 MPH. If you pull over and turn the car off and re-start it, it will work. Very dangerous to be going down the road and suddenly lose power.”
