“When pressing the brakes at any speed there was a hissing sound and the brakes were hard to press. Regardless of the amount of pressure I applied to the brakes they did not react and it took the vehicle longer to slow down even at very low speeds (5-10 MPH) or faster. This came on suddenly and caused me to bring the vehicle into the service department of the the dealership where I purchased it. The Mazda technician inspected the vehicles and completed a diagnostics of the vehicle and discovered that the master cylinder and brake booster have failed and need to be replaced.”

“The A/C evaporator tank condensation drain clogs. Ours has clogged twice and the first time the water in the tank would slosh around and hear it when making a left turn. Eventually it ruined the blower motor to the A/C, which had to be replaced. Now 19 months later, we heard the water again and took it in right away and it was clogged again and the blower motor has to be replaced again. This is a design defect. There should be a better drain system. Clearly this is an issue with the Mazda CX-9 model in several years because there are videos of how to unclog the A/C drain.”

NHTSA complaint #11255039, filed 2019-09, 103,000 miles

“The traction control light on my cx9 comes on and stays on, even in dry conditions in which the traction control system is not needed. Also the tcs system light is illuminated and the tcs off light is illuminated.”

NHTSA complaint #10402870, filed 2011-05, 11,000 miles

“Breakbooster when we asked our mechanic to check it and end up after calling Mazda fremont that it is covered by the extended warranty for this. While drivig I thought I loss my break and was not fully working. Was scared . Mazda fremont assisted us and provided us a temporary car to use.”

NHTSA complaint #10985551, filed 2017-05

“Front lower control arms safety recall 8515g / NHTSA campaign no. 15v-451 :: july 19 2016 went to team Mazda subaru (6218 cleveland blvd. Nampa id) for recall replacements and was told it would take 2 weeks for parts to be ordered & delivered.
