“While driving at 80 MPH on the highway, I was unable to maintain speed. I suddenly lost abilities to control my speed. I proceeded to pull over and shut the car off. Restarted minutes later with no warning lights present. This happened several times getting the car to a rest stop. I believe it's the torque converter in the transmission that maybe the issue.”

NHTSA complaint #11221880, filed 2019-06, 82,762 miles

“I have a timing belt noise that my mechanic says is from a manufacturing issue. Nissan refuses to comp a diagnostic at the dealership. I should not have to pay for a diagnostic or the repair if it is manufacturing, which my research tells me it probably is. Nissan customer service hung up on me.”

NHTSA complaint #11221739, filed 2019-06, 64,000 miles

“I am a frustrated owner of a 2013 Nissan JUKE sl. I am the first and only owner. At about 20k miles, I took the car in for its regularly scheduled maintenance and complained that the vehicle was noises while driving on the highway. I was given, what I know now to be the textbook response, 'I'm sorry we drove the car and could not duplicate the issue you're complaining about'. …”

NHTSA complaint #11005818, filed 2017-07, 50,000 miles

“My 2013 JUKE sl broke down while I was driving. The car slowed down and then came to a stop and wouldn't start. It was towed to a Nissan service dealership. They found that the engine timing chain broke and damaged my engine. I waited weeks to hear back from Nissan corporate office. They will do nothing. I bought the car brand new and doesn't have 60,000 miles on it. The Nissan dealership will give me 500.00 for trade in. 2011-2013 jukes have had this faulty timing chain. I can't believe Nissan won't do anything for me.”

NHTSA complaint #11342621, filed 2020-07, 45,000 miles

“The vehicle started loosing power and stalling very often during normal driving in the city. Took it to the Nissan dealership and they said the turbo went out and debris was sucked into the engine causing damage. Now they say we need an engine, $6000 for a used one or $14,000 for a new one, on a vehicle we still own $7400. That's insane and it's the second time something like this happens to us with a Nissan engine, a very similar thing happened with our 2005 pathfinder, had to put a used engine on that one too. …”
