“While driving at 80 MPH on the highway, I was unable to maintain speed. I suddenly lost abilities to control my speed. I proceeded to pull over and shut the car off. Restarted minutes later with no warning lights present. This happened several times getting the car to a rest stop. I believe it's the torque converter in the transmission that maybe the issue.”
NHTSA complaint #11221880, filed 2019-06, 82,762 miles“On wed, january 21, 2015, I arrived home around 7pm and went inside. I was not in the house 5 minutes when I heard a massive explosion in my driveway. I then saw a bright orange glow outside my window, which was my car engulfed in flames. The fire dept suppressed the fire and that night I called my insurance company to report the incident. The car (a lease), was incinerated and deemed a total loss by the insurance adjuster. My insurance paid off the car to the leasing company. …”
NHTSA complaint #10690753, filed 2015-02, 8,500 miles“My car after 80,000 miles started to have severe engine and driving issues. I was in a construction zone on a highway with the speed limit of 75mph and my transmission started to act up. I was low on gas so I filled it up and when I start back on the highway it would gain no speed and the RPM's would shoot up to 6. I road on this road for about 15-20 minutes at 35-50 miles per hour until I could find and exit and a side road to get me to a safe stopping point. I had to shut my car off two time during the duration and both times there wasn't a shoulder so I was in the grass. …”
NHTSA complaint #11331062, filed 2020-06, 94,555 miles“I am very angry.. I wish I had done my research before purchasing my 2013 Nissan JUKE. The extended warranty is a joke. My son and I were nearly in an accident on the highway due to the faulty turbo. The car began to decelerate and went from 65mph to below 20mph. Nissan is declining the claim. I even submitted proof of oil changes and etc... I have registered a complaint to Nissan since this has happened, I did research. Juke's from 2011-2014 have turbo issues. How can all these people be wrong?? The 1st time, happened in march. I took it in to the shop and they 'repaired the car. …”
NHTSA complaint #10864410, filed 2016-05, 52,000 miles“Different days. Car died while driving straight 30 MPH in town on main st. Car died in middle of the road, was unable to start the car again. After repeated pushing of the ignition start button the car finally started./ car was parked at home in the driveway, I got in to leave and the car would not start, again repeatedly pushed the start button and it finally started, this has happened 5+ times./ driving on interstate 80mph car would not rise above 3000 RPM and would not accelerate above 45mph. Pulled the car over turned it off for 15 mins restarted and it was normal again. Happened 10+times. …”
