“I was driving my Nissan Murano going 45mph when suddenly the engine light flashed, the air went out, and the car shut off. I was pressing the gas but it wouldn't do anything and it suddenly shut off. I've been to several shops that can't find a problem so they told me about the recall on the 2003 Nissan Murano. They think it's maybe electrical or engine cooling.”
NHTSA complaint #10627809, filed 2014-08, 89 miles“My vehicle is equipped with a stalk on the left side of the steering column that controls the headlights, fog lights,low-high beam function and turn signals. The headlight/parking light/automatic on-off control is accomplished by rotating the end of the stalk. The foglights are controlled by rotating another ring further down the stalk. High-low beam is controlled by pushing the stalk forward or back, the turn signals are operated by moving the stalk up or down. …”
NHTSA complaint #10059983, filed 2004-02, 2,375 miles“When using the turn signals, it is too easy to cause the headlight control ring to rotate, turning the headlights off. Has happened on several occasions.”
NHTSA complaint #10141166, filed 2005-10“Battery and brake indicator lights on dashboard came on. Next evening (approximately 10 miles later), the lights dimmed and electrical accessories failed while driving down a 4 lane road. Moments later the car went into limp mode (less than 5 MPH). I was able to navigate off the road, but couldn't move very far. The engine would run fine (while the car was in park or neutral), but would immediately go into limp mode when shifted into gear. Following a couple of restarts ... The battery finally went completely dead and couldn't restart engine. Towed to Nissan ... Replaced alternator.”
