“The door lock on the driver side went out and shortly after the rest of the door locks in the vehicle began to fail. Because of this issue, I am currently at risk of theft if the door lock do not completely lock. I received an estimate of $1600 to fix the issue and I have heard that's by others are having the same problem.”

NHTSA complaint #10511461, filed 2013-05, 110,000 miles

“I have a 2003 Nissan Murano with around 60,000 miles on it. The driver's door lock actuator has stopped working and from my research, it seems to be a very common problem with muranos. I believe that this is a safety issue and should be a recall since the problem is so wide spread but my dealer is unwilling to take it up with Nissan. Can you help?”

NHTSA complaint #10397392, filed 2011-04, 60,000 miles

“Tailgate, passenger and back door locks sticking. Occurs about 80% of the time when trying to unlock the doors. This problems stops me from getting in and out of the car. Very concerned that this is effecting my safety in the vehicle. Door clicks like it is unlocking but it just sticks. Nothing has been done to fix this - repairs are very costly.”

NHTSA complaint #10310764, filed 2010-02, 48,000 miles

“I bought my 2003 Murano in january of 2008. Every time I had an oil change done I was told that I had a very low amount. The low amount was never looked at as a problem. When I was getting a recall completed I was telling the service department employee about my low oil level when I took my car every 3,000 miles. He asked if I had any oil leaks that were left on the ground when I moved my car. I let him know that I have never seen oil on the ground. …”
