“I was driving my Nissan Murano going 45mph when suddenly the engine light flashed, the air went out, and the car shut off. I was pressing the gas but it wouldn't do anything and it suddenly shut off. I've been to several shops that can't find a problem so they told me about the recall on the 2003 Nissan Murano. They think it's maybe electrical or engine cooling.”

NHTSA complaint #10627809, filed 2014-08, 89 miles

“Nissan Murano sl. While driving this car in heavy traffic at about 65mph the service engine soon light came on and the car slowed down to a stop. I was unable to get the car going again. This incident happened on a 250 mile drive I could not use my cell because it happened in a dead zone. I had just had the car serviced with a oil change the day before this incident.”

NHTSA complaint #10228217, filed 2008-05, 49,000 miles

“2003 Nissan Murano cam position sensor code. My car has stalled and cut out while driving. The reason is the cam position sensor. Nissan says that my VIN number isn't part of the recall. I say it should be. It a very dangerous situation when you lose power unexpectedly.”

NHTSA complaint #10323820, filed 2010-04, 97,500 miles

“I bought my 2003 Murano in january of 2008. Every time I had an oil change done I was told that I had a very low amount. The low amount was never looked at as a problem. When I was getting a recall completed I was telling the service department employee about my low oil level when I took my car every 3,000 miles. He asked if I had any oil leaks that were left on the ground when I moved my car. I let him know that I have never seen oil on the ground. …”

NHTSA complaint #10302607, filed 2010-01, 76,000 miles

“I have a 2003 Nissan Murano. About 1 week ago the check engine light came on. The car doesn't start right away and also stalls during operation. I took the car to the Nissan dealer and was told the camshaft position sensor has to be replaced.”
