“I climbed into my vehicle (1003 Nissan Murano) after work. As soon as I sat down I heard a loud metallic pop and the seat sank down on the left side. I removed the side cover of the driver's seat and found that a rear support bar of the seat frame had broken in two places. The vehicle was parked and not running when this happened.”
NHTSA complaint #10484021, filed 2012-11, 110,200 miles“Driver seat rear metal support frame broken. I noticed when making a left turn that the seat was shifting. Upon inspection I notice that the driver seat left rear seat support frame broken.”
NHTSA complaint #11230756, filed 2019-07, 100,000 miles“I have a 2003 Nissan Murano with 70k miles. The front driver's seat has begun to rock side to side and even rolls forward and back (on it's own) slightly when I stop and start. This is quoted as about $1200 to fix. Seeing the list of all the same complaints about the same issue, and getting no help from Nissan, I feel a recall needs to ordered before someone gets killed.”
NHTSA complaint #10269375, filed 2009-05, 70,000 miles“I was driving my 2003 Nissan Murano, when all at once my driver's seat bracket broke from underneath. Now I have a rocking chair drivers seat - no control. I contacted my dealership and Nissan ( I had only made one payment on the car) 1000.00 -2,000.00 replacement seat they will not repair due to safety issues. Ok now the problem seem to be in the manufacturing of the seat. Will you help me?”
NHTSA complaint #10299511, filed 2010-01, 108,000 miles“2003 Nissan Murano drivers seat bracket broke at 42,000, repaired by dealer for $850, not covered they claimed. Broke again at 105,000, but I suspect it broke around 90,000, not sure since I'm only regular driver of the vehicle. Same problem with the identical location on bracket dealer does not acknowledge problem with design of part.”
