“The left side of the drivers' side seat started moving up and down - the bracket that attached it to the floor of the car snapped so the left side bounces up and down. This is primarily my sons car and it seems like a safety issue for me - moving while driving, and less stable in an accident. It looks from Nissan forums that this is a very common problem with Nissan Murano yet it is not a recall.”
NHTSA complaint #11328259, filed 2020-06, 148,000 miles“The driver seat of my Murano move back when I press the gas and when I press the brake it moves forward and pushes me up the guy I bought my car from told me that most of the muranos had recalls on their seat bc of this reason. It messes me up when brake and pressing gas bc I'm moving.”
NHTSA complaint #11190639, filed 2019-03, 176,483 miles“My seat is loose due to failure of the 8 way adjustable control that is a major safety issue and that was repaired by Nissan 2 time ones when the car was 2 years old and recently I paid to have it repaired. Now I have the same issue and the dealer indicated that they now have a better control at 2 times the cost.”
NHTSA complaint #10983459, filed 2017-05, 105,000 miles“While driving on the highway the driver side seat started to move forward on it's own, I almost crashed my car into a truck and could have been killed. I told the dealer but they said it is not covered. I don't have 800 dollars to fix this problem my seat is now stuck in a forward position and I am waiting until it moves back. Hope it will not happen while I am driving.”
NHTSA complaint #10511511, filed 2013-05, 75,000 miles“While traveling around an off-ramp, the driver seat made a loud pop sound. According to the dealership the bracket holding the seat to the car has broken loose. Luckily I was not traveling fast and I was able to keep control of the car. I am concerned that others might not be so lucky. This is a common failure of the vehicle according to the reports I have read online.”
