“While driving on the highway on our way to pick up daughter who lives 1.5 hours away my 2005 Nissan Murano would not stop when I stepped on the brake pedal. I had to pull the car over and let it stop to put it in park. I then called a tow truck and had the vehicle towed to the mechanic. I had to get rear brake pads and rear brake rotors as well as the rear passenger side rear caliper. This all cost me $1,700 as well as a weekend with my grandchild! There had not been any warning signs that I needed new brakes, I had only purchased this vehicle in november 2018. …”
NHTSA complaint #11180579, filed 2019-02, 165,000 miles“My vehicle caught fire as I proceeded to pull away from a curbside parking space. I turned my wheel to the far left as I proceeded away from the curb and that is when I heard a pop sound, saw white smoke spewing from the front right side of the vehicle, then I saw the flames. Five days prior to the incident, I had front brake pads and resurfaced rotors placed on the vehicle. Within the past 30 days the only other maintenance performed on the vehicle was a standard oil change.”
NHTSA complaint #10531934, filed 2013-07, 85,000 miles“I had a check engine light and an airbag light appear on my dash. While driving on the beltway the ABS light came on and my car slowed down and wouldn't tee pond to the gas pedal. After about 2 minutes it kicked back in so I took it to get a diagnostic from a Nissan dealer the next morning. They told me everything was fine according to the computer there were a lot of codes that popped up but they told me they weren't happening anymore. I asked of they checked all of the wires they told me yes. …”
NHTSA complaint #10651007, filed 2014-10, 112,000 miles“While driving on the street or highway ABS light comes on then vehicle stalls and rolls at about 2 MPH and the car doesn't respond when I press the gas pedal. Usually the ABS light turns off then I can drive normally. The last time this happened the car turned off I had to push it out of the street and it wouldn't start up for a couple of hours, then the ABS light came on again and then it stalls with no response when pressing the gas pedal. This has happened over 10 times even after replacing the brakes and checking all the sensors, checking the battery and all of the connections and fluids.”
NHTSA complaint #11220751, filed 2019-06, 200,000 miles“The air bag indicator light is flashing in the dash again. I had this problem fixed once before while still under warranty at the north little rock dealership. On leaving the garage within just a mile, I made a left turn and heard a crunching noise in the steering column and it came back on. I went strait back and they said they would fix it but the (second replacement part) wouldn't be in till the next day so I was given a loaner for one day. Now it's back on again. …”
