“As I am driving, our vehicle will auto brake, bow up and lose acceleration causing traffic following behind me to either brake or get into the other lane to keep from hitting me. This happens at low levels of speed and at high levels of speed. This will also happen should I be trying to cross traffic as well. I am in fear for the safety of my family and kids as well as the safety of other drivers on the road for they may not be able to get stopped in time. This is a major safety issue which will or could be the cause of 1 or more fatalities.”

NHTSA complaint #10440539, filed 2011-12, 110,731 miles

“While driving in traffic the engine on my 2003 Nissan Murano stopped, thankfully I was able to maneuver car to safety, another time waiting for train to cross approximately waiting 12 minutes in drive and idling, engine shut itself off, while driving 25 MPH and making left hand turn car stalled again almost resulting in another vehicle to hit my vehicle- called Nissan and they said that the recalls have been completed for my vehicle I then asked Nissan is it dangerous for engine to quit while in motion she expressed that she was sorry for that to have happened- what if I were hit whose fault…”

NHTSA complaint #10611357, filed 2014-07, 98,000 miles

“(1) vehichle was operating normally, then the battery and brake warning lights came on. 2) while driving down the interstate looking for a dealership, the entire car shut down, including the engine and braking. I had to cross 2 lanes of interstate traffic to get to the shoulder without power or adequate braking. At the time, I was travelling out of town and was stranded in a city where I knew no one. (3) after being towed to a dealer, the day after I was told the alternator and battery were both bad. …”

NHTSA complaint #10086336, filed 2004-08, 14,000 miles

“2003 Murano was stopped. Driver had foot on brake. Vehicle was struck in rear. Brake pedal went to floor and vehicle rolled through intersection. Had to pump brake pedal twice before brakes would hold again. Ever since, vehicle labors as if pulling a heavy load or as if parking brake was partially engaged. Nissan dealer states that brakes seem to work, therefore they will not attempt to find cause of pedal-to-the floor incident or cause of vehicle laboring .”

NHTSA complaint #10158838, filed 2006-06, 50,000 miles

“Brake pedal goes all the way to the floor with little to no effort. During a panic stop, the brake pedal goes all the way to the floor before the car stops. Also, whilestanding at a stop light, the pedal will slowly sink down to the floor with little to no pressure on the pedal.”
