“The quality of my 2004 Nissan Murano is not up to par with Nissan vehicles. I have had nothing but problems since I purchased it the end of october. The vehcile has been to the dealer 12 times for various issues. Ie window rattle, window noises, drivers seat loose, stearing rack bolts were loose, loose emergency brake cable.”

NHTSA complaint #10056897, filed 2004-02, 500 miles

“I have a 2004 Nissan Murano and have experienced several problems to date. First, after about one year of ownership the idler pulley bracket cracked (2/21/06) and had to be replaced. For the last year the brakes have squeaked and when brought to the dealership they reported they could not find a problem. Currently (9/02/07) I am experiencing the same idler pulley bracket problem and will have to take the care in to be serviced and inconvenienced once again.”

NHTSA complaint #10201720, filed 2007-09, 41,000 miles

“My Murano suddenly would not accelerate and the ABS and brake lights illuminated. The same exact description of the original recall for the alternator. I had to tow to dealer and luckily I still was under extended warranty so it was mostly covered. Called Nissan this morning and they informed me that the recall was already performed for my vehicle in september of 2006. Obviously they didn't learn from their original mistake. They should be doing repair again for free and paying for the battery that got fried in the process.”

NHTSA complaint #10279145, filed 2009-08, 76,295 miles

“The front brakes on my 2004 Nissan Murano occasionally pull left or right. Right more often than left. On two occasions, the steering wheel was pulled out of my hand. I have numerous other compaints but this is the only one safety related.”

NHTSA complaint #10102910, filed 2004-12, 9,877 miles

“My daughter was driving my Nissan Murano to school pulling on to a four lane highway accelerating to get up to the speed limit when all of a sudden the vehicle lost power and started to decelerate, she was almost rear ended by a trailer truck. She heard a grinding noise and was able to coast into the median to remove the vehicle from traffic. She was quite shaken by the incident as was I. I had the vehicle towed to a repair garage only to find out that the transmission was in pieces inside the pan. I understand by reviewing many web sites that this has happened to numerus Nissan owners. …”
