“When getting out of car to fill gas and upon closing door, the doors are automatic locking, I had children in the car. This car has continue to do this and is serious safety issue. As a female I want to know these locks can be counted on to lock or not when correct. A child could easily get into car and doors lock on there own. This is known issue with Nissan.”
NHTSA complaint #10428471, filed 2011-10, 67,550 miles“My door lock for my passenger front side does not unlock. I have no idea why but I have to manually unlock this now. I have researched this online and spoke with my local Nissan dealerships. This is a safety issue and should be repaired by a recall. Please advise.”
NHTSA complaint #10706428, filed 2015-04, 70,988 miles“Door locks and gas lock do not work or work intermittently. There wan an occasion where I had to tow the car because I had no gasoline and was not able to open the gas door. The mechanic fix it temporarily. The second time it happened I bent the gas door and had to replace the door. I fix that problem by deactivating the gas door lock.”
NHTSA complaint #10342529, filed 2010-07, 66,000 miles“Failure of drivers side door lock actuator and gas cap door lock actuator on a 2004 Nissan Murano. The failure of my gas cap door actuator made it impossible to refuel the vehicle which could have left me stranded. The failure of my driver door lock actuator caused me to believe my door was locked when in fact it was unlocked...this failure exposed me to a personal safety breach.”
NHTSA complaint #10241039, filed 2008-09, 90,000 miles“Good morning! I am having trouble with the door handles on my 2004 Nissan Murano sl. The front passenger side handle broke off one morning when I tried opening the door, about one year ago. Now, two weeks ago, I was opening the driver's side front door, and again the handle broke off.”
