“My vehicle hatch back will not open unless I use the emergency lock which is located inside the vehicle. This concerns me because if there was an emergency where I would need to open the rear hatch from the outside I wouldn't be able to.”
NHTSA complaint #10597858, filed 2014-06, 45,000 miles“After 32,000 miles my 2007 Nissan Murano door locks began opening a closing while driving. This began after replacement of battery by dealer. The door locks open and close with no with no specific timing. Sometimes clicking occurs immediately other times after a half hour of driving. Went to dealer and they could not duplicate. Now passenger door and rear door locks do not unlock unless double click of the door switch on drivers door. Dealer suggested I return to replace the actuator. I am concerned this may be very expensive. …”
NHTSA complaint #10360714, filed 2010-10, 32,000 miles“The battery has been replaced twice in the vehicle and it has less than 35,000 miles on it. The first replacement was done when the car was only about 6 months old and I just recently had to have the battery replaced again. The second battery was supposed to be an 84,000 mile battery and was under warranty. However, when I was driving it, the car died on me and would not start again. The battery had less than 26,000 miles on it. Nissan fought us on the replacement even though it was under warranty, but we finally got another one put in. We are on our 3rd battery in less than 3 years. …”
NHTSA complaint #10355625, filed 2010-09, 30,000 miles“2007 Nissan Murano. After I lock the doors the windows go down all by themselves. This is a safety issue. It happens all the time a lot of people have this problem with their Murano's. The consumer stated the rear door was closed and appeared to be latched securely when he drove off. However, the door flew open in the middle of the street. Updated ivoq 04/27/11”
NHTSA complaint #10393683, filed 2011-03, 49,000 miles“Doors can be unlocked and the car ignition can be started without a key, and there is no way to lock the ignition, and no way to stop anyone from opening the doors. This creates an extremely dangerous condition for car jacking and harm to the occupants.”
