“I have been unable to unlock my right side doors and trunk for quite some time. Took it into the Nissan dealership and they advised me that it is due to the door lock actuators. They quoted me a ridiculous amount of $1500 to fix. I looked online and found that I am not the only one with this problem and also signed a petition to have Nissan issue a recall.”
NHTSA complaint #10626656, filed 2014-08, 140,000 miles“I have a 2005 Nissan Murano. The door actuator has failed on numerous occasions. The front driver side fails intermittently as well as the rear door latch. The passenger side door will not open at all. Truly this is a safety issue and should be corrected by Nissan. Currently, I have seen nor heard of any recall.”
NHTSA complaint #10398045, filed 2011-04, 75,000 miles“The locks on the doors will sporadically lock or unlock and I am afraid my child may get locked in the car one day if keys are left in passenger seat when walking around vehicle to get child. This poses a serious threat to children or anyone in an unsure environment.”
NHTSA complaint #10492155, filed 2013-01, 80,000 miles“Our driver and left rear passenger door actuator randomly does not work. It will not unlock with the intelligent key, nor the key fob, nor if we push the unlock button - we have to manually unlock it at times. We believe this to be a safety issue and are requesting a recall to fix this problem.”
NHTSA complaint #10313434, filed 2010-02, 55,000 miles“Door locks problem. When I lock the doors with my control or from the inside, they don't lock or unlock. Same with the trunk, I cannot open my trunk because the system doesn't work. I contacted dealer and they told me I have to replace locks (all 5) for more than $1500.00 I also see this issue is common in all Nissan in different years. A recalled should be called since this is a security issue with the car. Thanks”
