“The driver side sun visor randomly drops down while driving. Nissan wants 400.00 to replace the sun visor. This is a defect in the vehicle. I have gone online there are 100's of complaints about the 2004 Nissan Murano's sunvisor. I want to issue a formal compliant about this very serious problem! This happens daily.”

NHTSA complaint #10569172, filed 2014-03, 141,000 miles

“I have a 2004 Nissan Murano. The sun visors fall loose at the slightest vibration. Every bump we hit sends them falling into my path of vision. I have 60k and therefore I am out of the factory warranty. I fear that the visor will fall at the wrong time, causing a potential accident. Please tell me what I can do to have Nissan correct this.”

NHTSA complaint #10342487, filed 2010-07, 60,000 miles

“Nissan Murano 2004 -- sun visor on drivers side is not staying up. As I am driving ( sometimes with my kids) the sun visor drops down blocking my view. This is a big safety issue and I'm surprised no one has been injured or sued Nissan for this. I have noticed many other people have the same complaint. The dealer wants $400.00 to put in a new one -- when this should never happen.”

NHTSA complaint #10378832, filed 2011-01, 102,000 miles

“2004 Nissan Murano sunvisors are junk. They are a very serious safety hazard when they fall down when you are driving and obstruct your vision. Nissan want $330.00 to replace this visor with I assume another piece of crap ya right, they need to be recalled!!!!!!!!!! I will never buy another Nissan in my life just because of these annoying overpriced dangerous sunvisors!!!”

NHTSA complaint #10346960, filed 2010-08, 60,000 miles

“The sun visor on my 2004 Nissan Murano suddenly just flops down for no reason while im driving. A few times it has gotten in the way of my direct sight and has caused me to swerve almost getting into an accident. I've replaced the visor once already myself but the new visor is now failing again and Nissan won't do anything about it since its been out of warranty for some time now.”
