“The left, driver's side front seat of my 2006 Nissan Murano broke while my son was driving. The support bracket cracked completely, leaving the seat tilted downward several inches on the left side. The car is dangerous to drive in this condition because the seat is bouncing at an odd angle. I have seen many complaints online of the same problem with the Nissan Murano. It is hard to believe that an NHTSA recall has not been issued.”
NHTSA complaint #11385050, filed 2020-12, 153,000 miles“During driving on freeway, my drivers seat made a loud snap noise, the seat broke ,and dipped back and down to the left. My body was not moving at the time, I was sitting still. It was dangerous because as the seat broke it caused me to turn my drivers wheel and swerve on the freeway, into the next lane !!!!! This is a safety issue and is very dangerous !!!”
NHTSA complaint #10567685, filed 2014-03, 63,000 miles“When my husband got into the driver's seat and started the car, the seat broke. One of the rails is bad and the gear that moves the seat is stripped. This is the second time the seat has broken and after research, it is a common problem. Both times the car was stopped but if we were moving it could have resulted in a crash.”
NHTSA complaint #10608984, filed 2014-07, 94,345 miles“Seat bracket broke on drivers seat. Nissan dealer said it wasn't their problem. This is a common safety issue with this model car. I've seen hundreds of complaints on this same issue all over the web. I'm contacting the philadelphia inquirer to see if the ntsb holds Nissan accountable or treat this like GM's safety issues.”
NHTSA complaint #10616615, filed 2014-07, 69,000 miles“The drivers side seat collapsed to the left . After inspection ,discovered the seat weld broke . I contacted Nissan and was told to bring in to a local dealer for inspection . I told the Nissan agent this is an extremely common issue with Murano's from what I have read on the Nissan forums. I will post as to resolution after dealer inspects failed seat weld.”
