“My front passenger door was closed and my side airbags deployed. My 4 year old son was in his car seat in the back seat on the passenger side when the air bags deployed. My car was in drive but I was not moving, I was dropping a friend off at home. It was on a city street. Nissan is refusing to pay for a rental until they come and look at my car, which they said would take 6 to 8 weeks.”
NHTSA complaint #11123958, filed 2018-09, 103,000 miles“Accident involved car spinning through intersection rear of car in direction of motion, rear of car impacted stationary ford f-150 then rolled into ditch. During course of impact driver's seat back did not remain locked in an upright position, at conclusion of impact driver's seat was involuntarily allowed to go to the fully reclined position, 6 yr old rear seat passenger was partially impacted by seat back but due to cushion of seat no major injury was sustained.”

The contact stated that while driving at approximately 30 MPH over a pothole, the air bag warning light illuminated intermittently. The vehicle was taken to a dealer for diagnosis. The mechanic informed that the front passenger's seat needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was unavailable.”
