“My car shut off while I was stopped at a stop sign. The radio and air were still on. The car would not move. In order for me to move the vehicle, I had to put it into park, turn the ignition switch to off and turn the ignition back to on. Basically turn it all the way off and restart the vehicle.”

NHTSA complaint #11328528, filed 2020-06, 80,900 miles

“My car has stalled twice now.... Both while driving right before it stalls I try to accelerate and it won't go. Just stalls.... Have to turn the car totally off and then re-start. So far it has re-started every time but why!!! This has done this twice and once in heavy traffic. Very dangerous.....”

NHTSA complaint #11222122, filed 2019-06, 53,000 miles

“When I accelerate my car makes a pinging noise, like the ball in a spray can. The dealer checked the car and said they heard no pinging sound. This was about 4 months ago. Still doing the same thing. Changed the plugs, and using hi-test gas now, but same thing. Anyone have a solution I would greatly appreciate it.”

NHTSA complaint #10979858, filed 2017-04, 28,000 miles

“My Nissan Versa has 56,000 miles and I haven't had any issues with this car or any warning lights etc. Yesterday I drove my car and every time I stopped at a traffic light or stop sign the car would shut off then restart but then shut off immediately again. The RPM gauge needle was moving between 1 and 2 really fast. The car starts and then shuts off when coming to a complete stop and this just started happening”

NHTSA complaint #11138857, filed 2018-10, 56,000 miles

“Sometimes stepping on the gas pedal does absolutely nothing. This has happened several times since owning the car. You can press the gas pedal all the way to the floor and it won't do anything at all. I took it in to have the Nissan dealership to look at it and they totally blow me off denied that anything was going on there was nothing wrong with the motor they said. You have to just let off the gas pedal and wait a few seconds and then it'll finally move the car when you press the gas pedal. …”
