After removing transmission dealer reports that shift solenoid, torque clutch converter and valve body has failed and transmission must be replaced. Gm customer support confirms diagnosis.”

NHTSA complaint #10064558, filed 2004-04, 71,400 miles

“Steering rack changed by the dealer-stiffness and clicking were the symptoms, transmition selonoid change by the dealer $600- banging into gear when outside temperatures were hot; water leak on passenger floor- dealer tried to repair twice problem ongoing; windshield tends to fog very rapidly I have noticed this problem with many Intrigue's that I see on the road.”

NHTSA complaint #734827, filed 2000-10

“The contact stated the vehicle stalled out while attempting to make a left turn at 10 MPH and there was a loss of all power. There is a NHTSA recall, #03v527000, regarding the steering. The vehicle has the same problems as indicated in the recall; however it is not included in the recall due to the VIN. The vehicle was seen by a dealer and repairs were made as instructed in the recall. Updated 2/9/2006 - as of 2/24/2006 the vehicle has not been repaired. On 2/10/06 the dealer replaced the transmission pressure control solenoid and replaced mass air flow sensor.”

NHTSA complaint #10150918, filed 2006-02, 53,000 miles

“The engine will die going down the road at any speed, which is a safty hazard. When engine dies... It is very hard too steer and looses braking power. The engine then may not restart for several min. Takes several attempps to get going again. If a person had to get to a hospital on time it could make the differance between life or death. We feel this should be fixed by GM...free...and soon!!! Thanks john & dawn”

NHTSA complaint #10069126, filed 2004-01

“Hard steering to left only. Mechanic states that the rack and pinon steering needs to be replaced. See approximately 18 reports on NHTSA site of same problem. Some owners have experienced total loss of steering control. Please force GM to deal with this in buying the cars back before my daughter is hurt or worse. Dt”
