“Leased vehicle 7-25-24. Driver’s rear tire had ongoing slow leak beginning several months after start of lease. We filled with air and reset stored tire pressure. This would last a couple months and same tire would begin to lose some pressure again. Finally at our 20,000 mile scheduled checkup, Polestar service advised to purchase a new tire, which we did, 3/19/26. The car was delivered back to us within a couple of days. On 5/7/26, that same tire completely blew out while driving on the freeway. Was able to exit freeway without an accident, but driving on rim. …”
NHTSA complaint #11749463, filed 2026-07“Michelin primacy all season 245/45r/19 102v Both rear tires cannot support the load of an rear wheel drive electric vehicle. Both tires wore through the tread at less than 20k miles. Warranty states they are good for 45k. Had to have tires replaced before they caused serious damage to the vehicle, occupants of the vehicle, or the other drivers on the road.”
