“I was driving one day, and I went to make a right turn and all of a sudden the steering wheel locked up and the power steering displayed on the dash. It has been happening since and mechanics don't want to work on it because of the area it's in. It's been going on for almost 1yr, and it's really annoying and tiring.”

NHTSA complaint #11192869, filed 2019-04, 170,000 miles

“There is a gasoline smell coming from my car at all times. I did research and there are several complaints regarding this problem for the same exact car. This is definitely a safety problem and needs to be fixed. I believe it's a crack in the fuel tank or hose. I've noticed since a couple of weeks ago.”

NHTSA complaint #11080173, filed 2018-03, 160,000 miles

“My car has been smelling like a gas station my husband has looked into this and it seems to be leaking near the fill neck. After looking at forums it seems that this is a common problem and you have a possible recall on the g5 I now cannot drive my car it is so bad and it is just sitting in my driveway I guess we will be waiting on yet another recall on my car.”

NHTSA complaint #10653944, filed 2014-11, 90,000 miles

“My car has a very bad smell of gasoline. It sometimes leave a small puddle of gasoline, but only when parked on an incline nose first. It was suggested to me that it may be a plastic connection from the fule tank to the fuel line. I also understand that GM has recalled certain cars for the same problem, but not the g-6. It would cost approx, 800.00 for repair.”

NHTSA complaint #10523215, filed 2013-07, 91,000 miles

“We purchased a 2006 G6 and when driving and while the car is turned of sitting it has a heavy smell of gas...I read online it was a recall in some but wasn't sure on ours...I was told it is dangerous and needs to be fixed asap...I have also been told that people believe 2007 and newer are recalled but not 2006 but a bunch of people have complained you would think they would make a recall for 2006!!!”
