“After starting my vehicle the service tire pressure monitor warning light turned on and has not turned off. Shortly after this, my service air bag light also turned on. It turns off after the car is turned off and restarted however it does this about every 5 times I start my car.”

NHTSA complaint #10543897, filed 2013-09, 87,000 miles

“I was driving my 2008 Pontiac G6, at approximately 40 MPH, northbound on ward drive, in the goleta, california, area. With no warning of any kind (I.e. Loud pop, pull, or car movement), the tire pressure sensor indicated to check tire pressure. The tire pressure monitor indicated 15 PSI in the left front tire. I pulled off the roadway, while monitoring the pressure monitor, and the tire was quickly leaking air until the tire was fully deflated. I did not run into, or over, any debris, curb or other obstacle. …”

NHTSA complaint #10256521, filed 2009-01, 5,936 miles

“Three of the tire sensors do not match up with the correct tire. For example, the sensor for the left rear is actually reading the tire pressure of the tire in the front right. Therefore, I am unable to tell which tire needs air or has too much air without taking it to an air pump with a pressure sensor. In the past, I have had to go into the shop because I could not find an air pump with a pressure sensor. The forth sensor is not reading any tire at all. It is showing as though there is not a tire on my car, which there clearly is. As far as I can recall, this happened completely at random.”

NHTSA complaint #10592890, filed 2014-05

“The contact owns a 2008 Pontiac G6. The contact stated that the tire pressure, air bag, and ABS warning indicators illuminated on the instrument panel. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 152,000.”

NHTSA complaint #10919136, filed 2016-10, 152,000 miles

“The contact owns a 2008 Pontiac G6 equipped with achilles all-season tires, size: p225/50r17 (na). The contact stated that the steering was faulty and the tire traction was worn out. While driving at an unknown speed, the front driver side tire had a blow out and the steering wheel made an abnormal humming noise. There were no warning indicators illuminated. The contact also mentioned that the tread was worn out on three of the tires. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who replaced all the tires and aligned the wheels. …”
