“I have had trouble with this ignition for years, having to jiggle it to start the car, a key tip broke off from trying to turn it. I also was never contacted about fuel line recall that I had to have repaired and paid for. My engine has also lost power and the engine light has been on for years and they don't know why? I don't feel safe even driving this piece of junk to the dealer.”

NHTSA complaint #10573938, filed 2014-03, 70,000 miles

“After work I drovehome and when I was ready to get out of car my car would not turn off. After taking it to a mechanic I was told I need a need a new ignition switch, housing unit and new keys. After researching on the web there are hundreds if not thousands with the exact same complaint. I feel there needs to be a recall on this. This is a safety issue. After reading the complaints apparently Saturn or GM does nothing about this. Does someone have to die inorder for this to change? So now I have to pull the fuse and disconnect the battery in order for my car to stop running. …”

NHTSA complaint #10420876, filed 2011-08, 68,699 miles

“My husband and I were going to the movies. Once we arrived, my husband tried to turn the car off and it would not shut off. He kept working on the key and the key came out but the car kept running. We drove back home with out the key in the ignition to see if my key would shut if off. It didn't so we went to the dealership and had to leave it there to be worked on monday. This is the first and only time this has happened. We are anticipating that it will be under our extended warranty and we will not have to pay the 400.00 dollars. I have found many other saturns have had this problem. …”

NHTSA complaint #10340248, filed 2010-06, 26,000 miles

“I drove my car to work and when I got there realized I could not turn my vehicle off or turn the key in the ignition at all. I drove to the nearest GM dealership and the service employee immediately knew the problem when I told him the symptoms. He also informed me that this is a problem he saw at least once a week . They ordered the parts and told me it could cost $300-$600 to replace the ignition lock cylinder and the housing component, if it needs to be replaced. After hearing how much it would cost I started researching and found several other Saturn owners having this same problem. …”
