“I was driving my 2007 Saturn Outlook when the power steering went out and I went off the road hitting a culvert head on. The frontal air bags failed to deploy. The driver seat on impact broke off of the frame of the vehicle. The only thing that saved my life was my seatbelt. The vehicle was towed to a dealership and after they hooked it up to their diagnostics, they found that there was a mistake in the sensor codes. The code showed that the vehicle rolled over. The vehicle never did roll over whatsoever. …”

NHTSA complaint #10681866, filed 2015-02, 114,000 miles

“The passenger airbag turns off and on regardless if a person (adult) is sitting in the seat or not. This has been happening for about three months now. I contacted the dealer and they said that it was not a recall item nor would it be a safety issue. I feel that if I am in an accident and the air bag does not deploy that the passenger could be in imminent harm at the fault of GM. They will not replace the sensor unless there is a recall. This is a very common problem with several other vehicles as reported on multiple online vehicle owner forums. …”

NHTSA complaint #10948560, filed 2017-01, 119,545 miles

“Electric driver's seat on 2007 Saturn Outlook is broken and no longer moves forward, it is broken in the farthest back position. I can barely reach the pedals and my foot has slipped off the gas and the brake several times while driving. I took the car into Saturn and they said it would be $645.00 to repair. I don't believe the seat should have broken so soon (or at all), 3 years old with 54,000 miles on car. I filed a complaint with general motors and they did their investigation (if you call it that) and said they would not pay for repairs, or even give me a discounted price on the repair.”

NHTSA complaint #10360545, filed 2010-10, 54,000 miles

“Passenger airbag will intermittently not enable with adults (>120 lbs) in front passenger seat. Prior recall for connector under seat was completed when issued. Dealer diagnosis of code for passenger presence module fail, with recommendation of replacement of passenger presence seat ass'y at cost of $960 - not yet completed. Elevated to GM customer assistance. Appears to be a chronic, ~500 ppm issue on the 2007-2008 model years of the GM lambda platform (Saturn Outlook, gmc acadia, and buick enclave). …”

NHTSA complaint #10732943, filed 2015-07, 115,000 miles

“The driver seat rocks back and forth like a rocking chair and could possibly come loose from seat track in event of crash injuring driver. This condition was first taken care of about 1 1/2 years ago with a technical service bulletin from GM. This inserted a bolt in the seat and this was supposed to correct the condition. The problem returned and the bolt inserted was rolling on the floor out of place. Took car to dealer and dealer stated that seat track became damaged due to bolt (from TSB) and thus bolt gave way allowing seat to not be stable. …”
