“Oh boy...here goes. I have a 2008 Saturn Outlook fwd. For the second time in a span if a few years, water has leaked from the sunroof and into the electrical components, fuseboxes, floors, etc. This is the infamous drainhose clogging issue that many may know about. The car now only starts when the key is removed from the ignition. The steering wheel is locked but I can shift gears and move the car backward and forward. I've cleaned up the water, grime and little larvae growing from the water intrusion. …”
NHTSA complaint #11113615, filed 2018-07, 125,000 miles“Takata recall....water leaks into the car behind kicker panel on passenger side going directly into the fuse/relay box. It leaks in all door jams and the rear liftgate area. I have problems with my car not shifting. Throwing code p2723 which is transmisson pressure control shift solenoid e. I believe its due to water getting into the fuse box because there is a constant drain on my battery and when testing the fuses with a test light not all of them seem to be getting a good connection due to all the corrosion. Also sunroof leaks. All door circuits get wet. …”
NHTSA complaint #11219956, filed 2019-06, 190,000 miles“My 2008 Outlook has been in the shop now three times for leaks. They can never find the leaks. Now I have the inner lining of the ceiling leaking with water from the rain and all my leather seats are wet, the inside of the windshield was wet along with all my lights dripping with water. I have read on so many forums how the electrical problems all started with these leaks and we should have a recall before anyone gets killed from the car dying on the highway while driving.”
NHTSA complaint #10450315, filed 2012-03, 50,000 miles“Power train warranty expired 11/1/13 and now my Outlook won't go reverse, 3rd or 5th, check engine light illuminated, I'll take it tomorrow to the dealer and find out if it's the same problem everyone has been having with the TCM or if it's the reverse clutch plate (waved). I also have the other common problem with the leaky sunroof, water comes down the driver floor board by the parking brake. This is my first GM and it looks to me like it's going to be my last. I'm going back to toyota! …”
NHTSA complaint #10554857, filed 2013-12, 69,000 miles“I took this vehicle to an automatic car wash. About halfway through, water started pouring into the vehicle through the overhead console and the passenger side a pillar because of a leaking sunroof/moonroof. I understand from research that this is a repeated issue with these vehicles, yet GM will not fix them. Something needs to be done. I paid $20k for this vehicle two months ago and I have made one payment of 72, and now I find out that the vehicle can never get wet or there will be problems.”
