“I took this vehicle to an automatic car wash. About halfway through, water started pouring into the vehicle through the overhead console and the passenger side a pillar because of a leaking sunroof/moonroof. I understand from research that this is a repeated issue with these vehicles, yet GM will not fix them. Something needs to be done. I paid $20k for this vehicle two months ago and I have made one payment of 72, and now I find out that the vehicle can never get wet or there will be problems.”
NHTSA complaint #10516062, filed 2013-06, 67,250 miles“Driving down the highway at 60mph when car slowed down to 10-15mph. Had to place my emergency lights on in order not to get hit by passing vehicles and move to the emergency lane. I had to turn off the car in order for the accelerator to work again. After the first incident the vehicle kept on stalling. Took the vehicle to the dealer and it turns out its the throttle body that's malfunctioning. The warranty I purchased does not cover this type of part, I don't even have a year with this vehicle. …”
NHTSA complaint #10536418, filed 2013-08, 16,110 miles“At around 50k my 2008 Saturn Outlook air conditioning system stopped working. The air conditioner would not blow cold air at all. A local dealership cleaned and sanitized the system and checked for leaks and re-filled with freon. The system worked for a couple of days as far as blowing cold air but not as well as before. I returned the car for them to look at again, they used a new machine to check for leaks and pressure checks, refilled with freon again. This time it worked for a day and has not worked since. …”
NHTSA complaint #10526315, filed 2013-07, 50,000 miles“The sunroof is leaking water. Had to take it to the dealer several times before they say they fixed the problem. I do not believe it is fixed. This issue of leaking sunroofs/ moon roofs has caused numerous problems in the same make/model vehicles and the leaks caused electrical problems, mold etc. In these vehicles. I will not drive my vehicle on days it looks like it might rain for fear it will leak again. As I understand this problem cannot be fixed and it is only a matter of time before mine leaks again. My vehicle only has appx 36000 miles on it. …”
NHTSA complaint #10495005, filed 2013-01, 25,000 miles“While in a stopped position, I tried to accelerate and my transmission would not go into gear. I was stuck not being able to pull over to get out of traffic, because my car wouldn't go into gear. I put it into park, then back into drive several times, and I finally got it to creep enough in low gear to get it to the side of the road. This could have been a disaster if I were trying to pull out into traffic. The car was in the shop prior due to the transmission slipping. This was not covered and cost me $3000. I am still not sure this corrected the problem and I don't feel safe in this car. …”
