“My service air bag light has come on and will not go off. I have read many forums and see where a safety recall was issued for repairs due to this being a two seat vehicle # 17v061000, yet I did not get this recall. My vehicle will not pass inspection and I need this safety recall issue repaired at no cost to me. Please help with information as to where I need to go and how to get this issue repaired thank you”
NHTSA complaint #11299966, filed 2020-01, 20,000 miles“I get a service air bag message when I start the car. This was previously repaired in 2011 after I got the same message at that time. This is a problem with the passenger air bag and it has been diagnosed as the air bag sensor module needs to be replaced. I understand from web searches that this problem is occurring often for this model of the Saturn SKY.”
NHTSA complaint #10863251, filed 2016-05, 56,000 miles“Pps airbag system has failed after GM dealer installed a support over a year ago as a recall fix at the time of their repair the system was operating properly...now they tell me they will not stand behind this. I was told that all parts of a recall should have been replaced at the time of the recall.... This has not happened and now I am afraid to drive my car with a passenger. Please help me. The recall on this item is #17v061000”
NHTSA complaint #11350129, filed 2020-08, 24,000 miles“The passenger air bag sensor in my vehicle failed shortly (2 mos) after its 'bumper-to-bumper' warranty expired. Any passenger in the car faces added risk if an accident were to occur. It is my understanding that the owner's cost to fix this item is prohibitive ($500 - $800), and that the early failure of this part is somewhat common for this vehicle.”
NHTSA complaint #10690888, filed 2015-02, 13,500 miles“The passenger presence sensor has failed in my vehicle. Any passenger in the car faces added risk if an accident were to occur. It is prohibitively costly (my estimate from the dealership is $800) to do this repair. Given the frequency of this identical failure across this vehicle platform, I find it to be a manufacturer's defect and request their assistance.”
