“I had run into a few small problems this winter, like my steering wheel not turning when the car was cold, but I experienced my first major problem while my vehicle was stationary, but had been running. I was going through a drive through, had to put my car in park, then when I went to shift it back into drive, nothing would happen. It was stuck in park. I don't think the problem was temp. Related, it was about 40 degrees outside. After turning the car on/off four or five times I was able to get it going, but my headlights went out, which I thought was strange. …”

NHTSA complaint #11075502, filed 2018-02, 168,565 miles

“The engine light and cruise control light came on & remained. Car slowed to a crawl. When car restarted could drive at a normal speed, but warning lights, listed as above, remained on. Took in to mechanic who stated the throttle pedal needed to be replaced as apparently there is an inherent defect (has happened to many others). Technically should be a recall, but so far is not!”

NHTSA complaint #10717747, filed 2015-05, 88,111 miles

“Car loss power and went into limp mode with a solid check engine light and blinking cruise on the dash. The RPM jumped high with out the gas pedal being pushed down. Vehicle was in motion driving at 25 MPH before the aforementioned happened.”

NHTSA complaint #11266186, filed 2019-10, 162,000 miles

“About a month ago I purchased a 2006 Subaru Legacy 2.5 gt mt. I have two major complaints that most people complain about. 1) hesitation under acceleration. This problem is known by Subaru. One tech told me that the ecu needs to be reflashed, but that Subaru has not come up with a flash to fix the problem yet. 2) bad smell from the clutch. Happens mostly in stop and go traffic, but occurs at other times too. I've had it happened when I first start the car, after driving it for a long time, cruising on the highway and shifting. It is very bothersome.”

NHTSA complaint #10151464, filed 2006-02

“While driving at about 30-40 MPH, the driver felt a sudden accelaration that couldn't control and his car crashed against the sidewalk and rolledover. We requested the dealer to inspect the vehicle in order to determine if computers can display any failure, but they rejected to accept it.”
