“I keep having to stick a key in my shift lock just to get the car out of park and has been occurring for a while now. The part you put the seat belt into when you put it on keeps sticking down so you can't wear a seat belt sometimes and I have had to replace my transmission range sensor about every 3 months since I have had the car which is ridiculous.”
NHTSA complaint #10648902, filed 2014-10, 60,000 miles“I am sick and tired of replacing my transmission range sensor!!!!!!!!!! And now after doing so, once again. My car wont start, battery is fine. I think that this needs to be a recall!!!! I have one more year left to pay off this car. I cant afford to keep replacing this problem. Had to replace this problem in 2009, and now again. Someone fix this!!!!”
NHTSA complaint #10471228, filed 2012-08, 16,000 miles“I have a 2007 Suzuki Forenza and the check engine light just came on. I took it to auto zone and they put it on the tester and it came up with a trans range sensor.this is a dealer part and the car only has about 75,000 miles on it. From what I can see online is that alot of people have had this issue. I have replaced 3 of the 4 door handles as well.”
NHTSA complaint #10397422, filed 2011-04, 94,743 miles“The transmission sensor went out on my 2007 Forenza at 77000 miles. This also happened to my sisters 2006 Forenza at 50000 miles. The warranty says it covers engine and transmission but when we took it to the dealer, they informed us that the transmission sensor is not covered. I have done significant research and this seems to be extremely common among Suzuki cars.”
NHTSA complaint #10439313, filed 2011-12, 77,850 miles“Coming home from work, my transmission suddenly shifted into 3rd gear as well as my speedometer started bouncing. During this episode the cruise control began to drop out. A while later, about 2 miles, the engine lost power and I had to pull off the free way and got towed home. I googled my car situation and found that there have been numerous events as mine. Has Suzuki addressed this issue and if so, what is the fix?”
