NHTSA complaint #10582838, filed 2014-04, 11,900 miles

2000: “2000 Suzuki Intruder vl 1500 lc pops out of 4th gear and goes into a false neutral. Every time I ride about every 3rd or 4th time I shift to 4th gear. This became a problem about 4000mi and continued to worsen . There is 13000mi on the bike now. When accelerating on an entrance ramp to a highway it will pop out of 4th gear causing the engine to rev very high, cause instability, and loose speed. This is a very dangerous situation when trying to merge with traffic.”

NHTSA complaint #10025611, filed 2003-07, 4,000 miles

1998: “Fuel leaks onto the engine compartment. Consumer is concerned that the motorcycle will catch on fire. Gas tanl rotted on the bottom of tank. Motorcycle was only six years old and garage kept. This should not have happened. Suzuki claimed there was aproblem with this model, but also said Suzuki was aware of the problem, but will not do anything about it.”
