“My media control unit (ipad screen-like) crashes, is incredibly slow and doesn't load internet feature that was promised. Took to Tesla multiple times and they said it's normal and their future updates will address this. This was said last year, and my internet still doesn't work (even under strong wifi). Crashes periodically and very slow.”

NHTSA complaint #11331563, filed 2020-06, 43,000 miles

“Main display stopped working today (june 30th 2020). Now HVAC, radio, sunroof, rear camera, indicator light noise, and a few other functions don't work. This seems to be the emmc memory write failure issue. The car was stationary when I noticed the issues, since I just got into the car and immediately noticed main display was dead.”

NHTSA complaint #11331798, filed 2020-06, 36,433 miles

“My mcu failed in january 2020 and I was charged $1,429.73 for replacement. I found a news article today that NHTSA is investigating this issue, I wanted to add my complaint as well. There was no incident preceding the failure, it just went dark one day. As a result heating/cooling, navigation, audio, etc. Were unavailable while I waited a month for the service appointment.”

NHTSA complaint #11330657, filed 2020-06, 45,000 miles

“Mcu unit wont turn on. This unit controls HVAC / safety features such as child locks / sunroof / and most importantly turn signals. The car turns on but the screen stays off. I think this has to do with its memory, I had a smiliar issue about 2 months ago where an update caused the car to reboot repeatedly until someone at Tesla installed a remote update and rebooted the car.”

NHTSA complaint #11355337, filed 2020-09, 99,098 miles

“Approximately 6 weeks ago the computer wouldn't respond and wouldn't reboot when I started the car. I can't control things controlled by the screen (back up camera, etc). I've had two repair appointments but no part available so no repair. I haven't been driving the car for 6 weeks now. They keep reporting part pending .”
